Happy April Fools’ Day! Do you have any pranks up your sleeve this year?
I decided to share a traditional What I Ate Wednesday post documenting a day of normal college eats today. These posts are fun to do from time to time since every day is different! In the past, I’ve done a “Bottomless Pit” WIAW, a Christmas-time WIAW, a WIAW when I was at home, etc. Yesterday, I wasn’t quite as hungry as usual, so I probably didn’t eat as much as I normally do, but there was still lots of delicious food.
8:00: About 15 minutes before my run, I had a bowl of strawberries. I can’t wait for berry season to officially get here!
9:30: After my run with friends (7.3 mi @ 7:55 pace), I had a bowl of oatmeal with raisins. I used 1/2 cup quick-cooking oats, 1/2 cup almond milk, and 1/2 cup water and microwaved it in a big glass bowl for 1 1/2 minutes. Then, I stirred in some extra milk and a handful of raisins and dug in!2:00: I snacked on a big bag of green grapes during my English class. (I snapped a picture when I packed my lunch in the morning.)
3:15: Finally time for the rest of my lunch! I usually end up eating a really early or really late lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays because of my class schedule, but fortunately, I wasn’t super hungry, anyway. I had a turkey sandwich with Boar’s Head maple honey turkey & homemade honey mustard on a sandwich thin, plus some carrots with hummus.
6:30: I had some unpictured leftover pasta while eating dinner with friends outside. It was such a beautiful, sunny day!9:00: And when I got back to my room, I had the other half of my cookie dough cheesecake from Sunday. I think it was even better the second time.I did a lot less snacking (and ate way fewer vegetables) than usual, but overall, it was a really delicious day of eats! And I already miss that cheesecake.
Questions for you:
Favorite kind of berry?
If I had to pick…probably blackberries. And raspberries. And strawberries. I used to be allergic to blueberries, but I’m not anymore, so those, too. Sorry, this question is impossible.
Best thing you’ve eaten recently?
Have you ever done a great prank or been pranked?
Those strawberries look super tasty.

YUM! This entire post made me hungry. I LOVE berries, I also live in Michigan so u-pick season is my favorite! If I had to pick one I would probably say blueberries because I freeze them and put them in yogurt/muffins etc year round 🙂
Love that you can pick berries and have freshly frozen berries to use for the rest of the year! I haven’t gone berry-picking in a long time, but I’d love to do it this year 🙂
Black or blueberries!

That sandwich looks so yummy! Can you pack my lunch for uni for me? I have been known to take a can of beans to uni when I am not organised 😮 it am ashamed haha.
Hahaha! Whatever works… 😉 Packing my lunch does make me run a little late sometimes, so I’m trying to get better at starting earlier/doing it the night before!

Strawberry season is alive and well in Florida…and I’m so happy about it. They are my favorite berry.
Mmm, I bet you can get some awesome strawberries! YUM.
I don’t prank and I haven’t been pranked, thank goodness! My favorite berry is the strawberry followed by every other berry on the planet. Yum!
I’m terrible at pranking, so hopefully no one will prank me because then I’d have to prank them back 🙂
Favorite berry is definitely strawberry or freshly picked raspberries. I have been loving pineapple lately. In terms of pranks, I’ve never been a great prank mastermind, but in college we went through a big syran-wrap everything phase.
I’ve already heard about a couple saran-wrapping pranks that happened here today! 😉
That cheesecake looks sooooo good!

My favourite kind of berry has to be strawberry. No question about it!
Yay for WIAW – i love sharing my eats and seeing what everyone else is having! That cheesecake looks awesome.
Best thing I ate lately? Probably some lemon cake …. or peanut butter brownie layer bars!
Peanut butter brownie bars sound so good! YUM!
Ellen @ My Uncommon Everyday says
I can’t pick my favorite berry, either. Love them all and I am so ready for them to be back in season!
Alyssa @ Renaissancerunnergirl says
Love ALL berries, but strawberries are my fave. And that cookie dough cheesecake looks delicious!
Kate @ Baking in Yoga Pants says
I think I’m going to have make cheesecake soon, you’ve inspired me! 🙂
Wow that’s an awesome run! I’m looking forward to being able to add more milage. Slow and steady for now 😀
Berries are the BOMB. Always in my fridge. Blackberries are my number one followed by raspberries then strawberries. I think berries are probably my favorite fruit, which is saying something!
If I HAD to pick, I think I’d agree with your order of favorite berries 🙂 Why are they so good?! (but so expensive haha)
sam @ grapefruit & granola says
Cookie dough cheesecake sounds like the best dessert ever.
I love raspberries and blackberries but I think strawberries would be my favorite. They are more versatile and cheaper, and I love them when they’re in season!!
YES! That’s what I love about strawberries- you can get twice the amount of berries for the same price 🙂
Rebecca @ MyEagerFeet says
Strawberries were finally reasonably priced here. I was so excited! Eating outside on the lawn was one of my favorite things in college. (Probably because the opportunities were few and far between in Michigan!) Awesome pace for your run!
Thanks, Rebecca! When the weather’s so perfect, nothing beats being outside 🙂
Stacie @ SimplySouthernStacie says
Did you save me any of that cookie dough cheesecake?? Yum!
Nope not going to pick a favorite berry! Its funny actually, growing up I HATED blueberries and raspberries because I thought they were too tart, and now I can’t get enough of them!
Liz @ A Latte Running says
All of your food looks so yummy! I will have to try mixing water and almond milk – I tried making oatmeal with just almond milk once, but it took over 4 minutes to cook (the horror 😉 ) which was a little annoying.
That’s so strange that it took so long! I like doing mostly water with just a splash of almond milk for some creaminess, so that might be worth a try!
Lily Lau says
Just had strawberries with delicious cream today as a dessert, Liv! Can’t be happier for being already in spring 🙂
That sounds like the perfect dessert! Mmmm!
Lauren @ ihadabiglunch says
Yum I can’t wait for berry season either! There is a strawberry festival near my hometown in the suburbs that I need to get home for for sure. So delicious! That cheesecake looks heavenly — I want it now!
A strawberry festival?! That sounds AMAZING.
Arman @ thebigmansworld says
I am so impressed you saved half the cheesecake- Mad props! I love boars head deli meats and can’t wait to tuck into them again soon! Silly Australia.
I usually can’t eat just half of ANYTHING, but it was super rich and I wanted to be able to enjoy it for two days instead of one 🙂 Boar’s Head is the best! You’ll have to come visit here soon so you can get some again!
