WIAW: Less Hungry Than Usual

Happy April Fools’ Day! Do you have any pranks up your sleeve this year?

I decided to share a traditional What I Ate Wednesday post documenting a day of normal college eats today. These posts are fun to do from time to time since every day is different! In the past, I’ve done a “Bottomless Pit” WIAW, a Christmas-time WIAW, a WIAW when I was at home, etc. Yesterday, I wasn’t quite as hungry as usual, so I probably didn’t eat as much as I normally do, but there was still lots of delicious food.

8:00: About 15 minutes before my run, I had a bowl of strawberries. I can’t wait for berry season to officially get here!
what to eat before run strawberries9:30: After my run with friends (7.3 mi @ 7:55 pace), I had a bowl of oatmeal with raisins. I used 1/2 cup quick-cooking oats, 1/2 cup almond milk, and 1/2 cup water and microwaved it in a big glass bowl for 1 1/2 minutes. Then, I stirred in some extra milk and a handful of raisins and dug in!after run oatmeal2:00: I snacked on a big bag of green grapes during my English class. (I snapped a picture when I packed my lunch in the morning.)
lunch boars head maple honey turkey honey mustard grapes3:15: Finally time for the rest of my lunch! I usually end up eating a really early or really late lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays because of my class schedule, but fortunately, I wasn’t super hungry, anyway. I had a turkey sandwich with Boar’s Head maple honey turkey & homemade honey mustard on a sandwich thin, plus some carrots with hummus.

6:30: I had some unpictured leftover pasta while eating dinner with friends outside. It was such a beautiful, sunny day!UNC campus sunset spring9:00: And when I got back to my room, I had the other half of my cookie dough cheesecake from Sunday. I think it was even better the second time.cheesecake factory cheesecake chocolate chip cookie doughI did a lot less snacking (and ate way fewer vegetables) than usual, but overall, it was a really delicious day of eats! And I already miss that cheesecake.

Questions for you:
Favorite kind of berry?
If I had to pick…probably blackberries. And raspberries. And strawberries. I used to be allergic to blueberries, but I’m not anymore, so those, too. Sorry, this question is impossible.
Best thing you’ve eaten recently?
Have you ever done a great prank or been pranked?

Sharing is easy!

YUM! This entire post made me hungry. I LOVE berries, I also live in Michigan so u-pick season is my favorite! If I had to pick one I would probably say blueberries because I freeze them and put them in yogurt/muffins etc year round 🙂

Love that you can pick berries and have freshly frozen berries to use for the rest of the year! I haven’t gone berry-picking in a long time, but I’d love to do it this year 🙂

Hahaha! Whatever works… 😉 Packing my lunch does make me run a little late sometimes, so I’m trying to get better at starting earlier/doing it the night before!

I don’t prank and I haven’t been pranked, thank goodness! My favorite berry is the strawberry followed by every other berry on the planet. Yum!

I’m terrible at pranking, so hopefully no one will prank me because then I’d have to prank them back 🙂

Favorite berry is definitely strawberry or freshly picked raspberries. I have been loving pineapple lately. In terms of pranks, I’ve never been a great prank mastermind, but in college we went through a big syran-wrap everything phase.

Wow that’s an awesome run! I’m looking forward to being able to add more milage. Slow and steady for now 😀

Berries are the BOMB. Always in my fridge. Blackberries are my number one followed by raspberries then strawberries. I think berries are probably my favorite fruit, which is saying something!

Cookie dough cheesecake sounds like the best dessert ever.

I love raspberries and blackberries but I think strawberries would be my favorite. They are more versatile and cheaper, and I love them when they’re in season!!

Strawberries were finally reasonably priced here. I was so excited! Eating outside on the lawn was one of my favorite things in college. (Probably because the opportunities were few and far between in Michigan!) Awesome pace for your run!

Nope not going to pick a favorite berry! Its funny actually, growing up I HATED blueberries and raspberries because I thought they were too tart, and now I can’t get enough of them!

All of your food looks so yummy! I will have to try mixing water and almond milk – I tried making oatmeal with just almond milk once, but it took over 4 minutes to cook (the horror 😉 ) which was a little annoying.

That’s so strange that it took so long! I like doing mostly water with just a splash of almond milk for some creaminess, so that might be worth a try!

I usually can’t eat just half of ANYTHING, but it was super rich and I wanted to be able to enjoy it for two days instead of one 🙂 Boar’s Head is the best! You’ll have to come visit here soon so you can get some again!
