Pursuing A New Passion

Recently, I wrote about discovering a love for photographing people. While I’ve enjoyed food photography for a couple of years, it’s not until this school year that I’ve realized how much I love taking pictures of people.

I’m so excited to share that I’ve launched a new website: www.livsphotography.com.

About a month ago, I decided I wanted a place to compile my photos so they didn’t just sit in my iPhoto library collecting virtual dust. I took a little leap of faith, purchased a new domain name, and started working on a new website. As I took friends’ senior photos and headshots, I started adding them to the site. This past week, I “officially” unveiled my photography website.
After sending the link to my family group text (mom, dad, brother, sister, and my future brother-in-law), I worked up the nerve to post the link in two Facebook groups, offering to do senior sessions. A couple of days later, I’ve booked my first five paid sessions. I’m amazed and grateful and so excited about this new hobby and side hustle. I just taught my mom the phrase “side hustle” and was so proud when she started using it.

I honestly don’t have any expectations for my new little site, but I know taking a leap of faith to start this blog was one of the best decisions I’ve made, so I’m excited to see where this new little biz goes. At the very least, I’ll get to connect with some new people and have an extra incentive to work to improve my photography!

So, what does this mean for the blog? Nothing at all! If anything, I’ve been feeling so much more creatively inspired in general lately, so this may even lead to more blog posts. With finals next week and then the LSAT coming up shortly after, though, no promises for now 😉
