Kilometers for the Kids 10k

Happy Monday! Anyone else excited about the short week and Thanksgiving coming up?! I had a busy and fun weekend, which is the best kind!

On Saturday morning, my friend Kim and I ran the Kilometers for the Kids 10k to raise money for the NC Children’s Hospital. It was freezing but we had so much fun! I didn’t have a time goal and wanted to just do it for fun since I’m still thinking about doing a half marathon on Thanksgiving.

I ran the 10k in 43:10 (6:57 avg. pace), which was the perfect “comfortably hard” speed for me. It was a pretty small race, so I placed 4th woman overall (2nd in my age group). I was psyched to not be sore or tired on Sunday morning this time, unlike my last half marathon when I was hobbling down the stairs the next day.

It turned out to be good race fuel. Who would’ve thought? 😉

My roommate, Shannon, (who does not like to run) ran the 5k and I was so proud! She left me this sweet note after the race.

I’ve actually never had Ben & Jerrys before. Is that crazy?
How cool! I’ve always wanted to have a Friendsgiving! Two Thanksgivings are definitely better than just one.
And I ALWAYS mix at least 2 cereals together!

You’ll definitely have to give Ben & Jerry’s a try! There are so many great flavors to choose from 🙂

Sounds like a great weekend! Do you feel like you have lots of homework on the weekends? When do you find time to do it?

      Hey Rachel!!
Thanks for the question. Depending on the weekend, I usually do have a decent amount of homework, so I just make sure that I don’t plan so many things that I run out of time to do it. For example, this weekend, I saved Saturday and Sunday afternoon to do homework and tried to be really productive during those windows! Sometimes I can be more productive in a few hours than if I had all day to do one assignment 🙂
