Do you ever have one of those days where you feel like no matter how much you eat, you’re still hungry? That’s been me for the last couple of days! On a run a few days ago, some friends and I were talking about how we’d been extra hungry recently, and we were thinking it could be because of the craziness of exam week. Whatever it is, I’m rolling with it and eating whenever I’m hungry because I know I’ll feel back to normal soon! Welcome to What I Ate Wednesday (WIAW): The Bottomless Pit Edition with Tuesday’s eats.
I got to “sleep in” until 9 a.m.! That never happens, and it felt awesome. I usually don’t eat a full breakfast right before I run, but I woke up starving, so I had a bowl of oatmeal with dried cherries and cranberries.
After my run, I had a black cherry Chobani for some protein. This is the sad state of our mini fridge currently. It’s usually packed with food, but I didn’t go to the grocery store last weekend since I was busy, and also trying to clean out the fridge before Christmas break means no new, exciting groceries. The sole survivors: carrots and hummus, peanut butter, Greek yogurt, my roommate’s lonely Jello cup, and some apples.I met up with my friend, Kim, for lunch at the dining hall a few hours later.
I got a salad, fruit, and an unpictured banana. Sometimes, there aren’t tons of choices if you don’t want to eat the meat there 😉 I also realized that grapefruit is actually really good and I kind of love it now.During a long afternoon in the library, I snacked on my favorite Honeycrisp apple and jammed out to some Pandora Christmas stations. Love the music during this time of year! When I got back to my room at 7:30, I was more than ready for dinner. I had a homemade frozen burrito with carrots and hummus. The hunger monster was still there in full force, so I also had a dark chocolate granola bar. These don’t have tons of nutritional value, but they’re delish!
And I finished off my Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Peanut Butter World that I got on Saturday night. So sad that it’s gone! You know the saying, “Hate to see you go, but love to watch you leave”? That does not apply to ice cream, just in case you were wondering.
I ended the night doing some studying with friends. Rachel shared these pumpkin spice almonds that were SO good, and my friend Hannah shared her mini dark chocolate peanut butter cups. Yum!
