Happy Halloween!
Has everyone heard of “hacks”? They’re basically just little tricks that make life easier. Over the last couple of years, I’ve come up with a few for running that I use all the time!
1. I tie my keys into my shoelaces. This way, I don’t have to carry them or worry about them falling out of the tiny pocket in my running shorts. (The electronic key unlocks the door to my building and the other key unlocks my room.) I did this with my car keys in high school, too!
2. I put my phone/iPod into a plastic sandwich bag to keep it dry when it looks like it’s about to rain (or when there’s a 30% chance it’s already raining). I fold in the top, and it’s never gotten wet! The best part about the thin plastic is that you can still use the touchscreen to change the songs like normal.
3. After running in the rain, I stuff my running shoes with newspaper to speed up the drying process and help them hold their shape. The fan helps, too.
Do you use any of these tricks?

And some pictures from lately…I’m going to have to start taking more pictures every day!
On this beautiful fall day, we had class outside in the graveyard for Halloween. Our professor brought us all apples instead of candy and they were even organic! Is it crazy that I’m way more excited about apples than candy?
And Kim got her hair braided by a mad scientist while we worked on a group project. Just the normal happenings around here…
Have a great weekend and a fun Halloween!
